In January 2026 Young Voices of Macedon was pleased to welcome Rosie Cocklin as Artistic Director, replacing Jessica Demare, who has taken up a position at Sacred Heart College, Kyneton.
As a highly qualified singer, with experience in opera, musicals, recitals and choirs, and with great energy and enthusiasm to lead and inspire children in choral singing, Rosie has quickly become established as an excellent Artistic Director of our choir. The children have performed at 2 farmers’ markets in Riddells Creek, and their performance at the annual Choralfest at the Abbotsford Convert was received enthusiastically by a large audience, and many expressions of congratulations were received by our staff.
The choir is now working on the programme for our Showcase concert on 13 September at the Church of the Resurrection, Macedon. The major work is the cantata Jonah Man Jazz, with the accompaniment including string bass and percussion.
